Susan is an award-winning Civil Engineer and Life Safety Inspector with over 30 years of distinguished experience in state and federal building code compliance, healthcare facility inspection, and construction project management. Awarded the Young Alumni Award from the Wentworth Institute of Technology, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and earned training certificates from the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Life Safety Code Surveying, Health Care Facility Surveyor training, Fire Safety Evaluation Systems (FSES), and Emergency Preparedness Appendix Z.
Throughout her career, Susan has served in vital engineering and regulatory roles, including as a Project Engineer IV for the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance, where she managed public facility construction projects from design to completion. Following this, she spent over three decades as a Civil Engineer and Life Safety Code Building Inspector, conducting critical on-site audits of hospitals and nursing homes to ensure alignment with NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and CMS physical environment standards. Her specialized ability to translate complex codes and write clear technical reports makes her a trusted advisor to architects, contractors, facility managers, and administrators.
